BISP stipend increased by 25% by Bilawal Bhutto - Good News Pakistan

BISP stipend increased : The Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has announced an immediate increase of 25% in the amount of stipend provided by the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP). Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the registration of deserving women under the BISP through the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). Bilawal Bhutto Zardari promised to accelerate the process of providing relief money to flood-affected small farmers by the Sindh government. He said that the purpose of BISP was to revolutionize the lives of the weakest women in the country.

The BISP is an initiative that was conceptualized by former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. Its aim is to provide financial assistance to the most vulnerable women in society. Who often lack access to basic necessities such as food, shelter, and education. The program has been instrumental in reducing poverty and empowering women across Pakistan.

NADRA shared an update on the number of successful laborers’ registration. Which exceeds 87,000 and the BISP cards were delivered to them. NADRA is also aiming to extend the new registration process. See below their latest Tweet on it.

The BISP has been widely appreciated by international organizations, including the United Nations, for its transparency and effectiveness in reaching the most marginalized populations. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that during his presidency, President Asif Ali Zardari fought against the entire system to implement the BISP. By holding weekly meetings in the President’s House, the program was able to provide assistance to poor women across the country within a year.

The BISP has also had a positive impact on small businesses in the country. Many women have been able to start their own small businesses and become self-sufficient thanks to the financial assistance provided by the program. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized that the BISP not only runs a woman’s house but also helps small businesses.

In addition to the BISP, other initiatives such as the KPK Health Card and Mazdoor Card in Punjab have also been launched in recent years to help the poor and vulnerable. The KPK Health Card provides free health services to families below the poverty line, while the Mazdoor Card provides financial assistance to workers in the construction industry.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) latest initiative in Punjab is the Mazdoor Card. Which aimed at easing the burden on the province’s extremely poor workforce(BISP stipend increased). The card will function as an all-purpose card, with its holders enjoying benefits including free healthcare at both public and private hospitals. Access to various government funding schemes, and discounts at more than 130 companies. The card will be available to the 1.2 million laborers registered with the Punjab State Employees Social Security Institute, as well as 6.8 million dependents. The Mazdoor Card will complement the Sehat Sahulat Card, a health insurance program for citizens in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government in Pakistan has provided free healthcare to two million people since the introduction of the Sehat Card program in 2015, with the main recipients being people aged between 30 and 50. The program has now been expanded to cover all 9.7 million families in the province. The initiative, which provides cashless healthcare, has resulted in 552,266 inhabitants aged between 31 and 50 and 500,506 aged between 11 and 30 receiving medical care. Additionally, the program has provided micro-health insurance for 121,951 children under 10 and 149,629 adults over 71(BISP stipend increased).

These initiatives are crucial for a developing country like Pakistan, where poverty and inequality remain major challenges. By providing financial assistance and access to basic services, these programs help to alleviate poverty and promote social development. They also have a positive impact on the economy by increasing consumption and stimulating growth.

In conclusion:

The increase in the amount of stipend provided by the BISP is good news for the people in Pakistan who are stipend holders. The program has been instrumental in reducing poverty and empowering women across the country. Initiatives such as the KPK Health Card and Mazdoor Card in Punjab are also important in promoting social development and reducing poverty. It is crucial that the government continues to invest in these programs to ensure their effectiveness and sustainability.
