In a recent world cup match between Pakistan and England, Nida Dar, the Pakistani all-rounder skipper, created history by becoming the highest wicket-taker in women’s T20Is. By surpassing West Indies’ Anisa Mohammad’s record of 125 wickets.

The right-handed off-spinner achieved this milestone in her 130th T20I match after England’s batter Heather Knight was caught by Nashra Sadhu on Dar’s ball. The same is also shared on Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) official Twitter account, see below for more:

This achievement adds another feather to Dar’s cap, as she had been named the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for October 2022 earlier, after some terrific performances during the Women’s Asia Cup.

In Pakistan, cricket is the most popular sport, and it has a significant impact on the country’s social and cultural fabric. The sport has a massive fan following, and it has produced some best players over the years, such as Muneeba Ali, Javeria Khan, and Bismah Maroof.

In recent years, Pakistan’s women’s cricket team has also made significant strides, thanks to the efforts of players like Nida Dar. However, there is still a long way to go, as women’s cricket in Pakistan faces several challenges, such as a lack of facilities, funding, and exposure.

To support women’s cricket in Pakistan, initiatives like “back our girls” have been launched, which aim to raise awareness of the sport. With the right support and resources, the future of cricket in Pakistan, especially for females, looks bright(Nida Dar highest wicket).

Sports play an essential role in human life, as they promote physical and mental well-being, develop character and discipline, and provide a platform for socialization and teamwork. They also bring people together, transcending cultural and geographical boundaries, and serve as a source of inspiration and entertainment.
