Every Umrah journey from Pakistan starts with the same document. This guide explains the Umrah visa from Pakistan as it works in the 1448 AH season: who can apply, what you need, what it honestly costs, and how long it takes, with every figure checked in November 2026 and labelled clearly where it is an estimate.

The one route an Umrah visa from Pakistan follows

Pakistan is not on Saudi Arabia’s list of countries whose citizens can apply for an Umrah visa directly online. For Pakistanis, there is exactly one standard route: a Pakistani tour operator attested by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony (MORA) submits your application through the Saudi Nusuk Masar system, the back-end platform the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah runs for operators. Since 2025, the visa is tied to a real booking under the “No Booking, No Visa” rule: your operator must first secure a confirmed Nusuk-approved hotel booking (with its Booking Reference Number) and ground transport, and only then is the visa issued. Anyone offering you a “visa only, no booking needed” deal in 2026 is offering something that does not exist.

Requirements: the documents you will be asked for

Operators ask for a standard set: a passport valid for at least six months beyond your travel date; your CNIC; recent passport-size photographs with a white background; confirmed return flight reservations; the Nusuk hotel booking and transport arranged by the operator; and proof of relationship for family members travelling together where the operator requests it. Mandatory Saudi medical insurance is arranged as part of the process and is not optional. Women aged 18 and over apply on the same terms as men; Saudi rules no longer require a mahram for the visa, a point our separate guide on women travelling for Umrah covers in full. Keep digital copies of everything on your phone and paper copies in your hand luggage.

The cost, honestly broken down

There is one exact official figure: the Saudi government Umrah visa fee is SAR 300, the fee listed for the Umrah visa service on the Saudi National Platform. At November 2026 exchange rates that is about PKR 22,300, but treat the rupee figure as an estimate, because it moves with the exchange rate. Mandatory medical insurance adds roughly SAR 100 to 180 depending on age and provider. Because Pakistanis must use the operator route, what you actually hand over for the visa part of the trip also includes the operator’s processing and service charges and the transport component: in 2026, operators typically quoted an estimated PKR 45,000 to 65,000 for the complete visa channel (estimated, checked November 2026). Urgent processing and peak-season dates can push that higher. If a quote is dramatically lower than everyone else’s, ask what has been left out.

Processing time and validity

Once the operator submits a complete application with the booking in place, approval is usually quick: industry reporting through 2026 put typical processing at 24 to 72 hours, though incomplete documents or peak-season queues can stretch it. Two validity rules matter for your planning. First, you must enter Saudi Arabia within the entry window printed on your visa; reporting in 2026 indicated the window after issuance had been shortened to 30 days, so do not apply months early. Second, the standard visa allows a stay of up to 90 days in total. Season deadlines override everything in the 1448 AH calendar published by the Saudi Ministry: visa issuance began on 31 May 2026 and the final issuance date is 9 March 2027, the final entry date is 23 March 2027, and all pilgrims must depart by 7 April 2027. There is also a newer option worth asking your operator about: the one-year multiple-entry Umrah visa launched in July 2026, valid for 365 days with a cumulative stay of up to 90 days, which still requires a Nusuk package and permits for each visit and pauses during the Hajj window.

How to check your operator before you pay

Before paying anyone, confirm the operator appears on MORA’s current attested Umrah operators list at mora.gov.pk; approval from a previous season does not carry over automatically. Pay against a written quotation naming the hotels, their distance from the Haram, the flights and the refund terms, and keep the payment trail in a bank channel rather than cash. Never hand over your passport to an unregistered agent, and never let anyone keep it longer than the processing requires.
