Islamabad, October 19, 2026: JazzCash, Pakistan’s leading digital financial services platform and a subsidiary of VEON Ltd. (NASDAQ: VEON), has won the Silver Award in the Banking-InsurTech category at Money20/20 USA 2026. The JazzCash Money20/20 Award 2026 victory marks the company’s second consecutive Silver at the global fintech event, following its 2025 win for the ReadyCash lending platform, according to the announcement issued October 19, 2026.

The award recognises Sehat+, JazzCash’s health-protection platform, for its innovation in insurtech and its role in bringing affordable, accessible health insurance to Pakistan’s informal workforce: daily-wage earners, small traders and first-time insurance buyers. According to the company, Sehat+ now serves 2.38 million active unique insurance customers and has issued 27.7 million policies to date, embedding insurance into everyday transactions and settling claims without the paperwork that has traditionally kept coverage out of reach for informal workers.

“The real measure of our work at JazzCash is impact: whether a microentrepreneur gets credit when they need it, or a family’s health claim gets paid without delay,” said Murtaza Ali, CEO JazzCash, in the announcement. “That’s the standard we hold ourselves to, for our customers, our partners, and the communities we serve. We’re now bringing that same approach to savings and investment, so more Pakistanis can build toward their future.”

“JazzCash’s recognition at Money20/20 USA for a second consecutive year is testament to the consistency of its work expanding financial access across Pakistan,” said Kaan Terzioglu, Group CEO of VEON. “JazzCash is a strong example of embedded finance in action, from credit to insurance built directly into everyday transactions, delivered at scale in one of the world’s most populous countries.”

JazzCash Money20/20 Award 2026: Sehat+ Brings Insurance to the Informal Workforce

Sehat+ is JazzCash’s platform for digital health protection, built into the JazzCash app in collaboration with licensed insurers including EFU Life Assurance. Customers can compare and select health insurance plans, receive instant digital health cards, locate verified hospitals, access small-ticket cashless insurance at panel hospitals, secure instant health financing, consult doctors online and get healthcare discounts, all from their mobile phones.

The platform is designed for the millions of Pakistanis who have never had formal insurance cover. Products start from around PKR 3 a day, support is offered in Urdu, and payments are flexible, which lowers the barrier for daily-wage earners and small traders who were previously locked out of the insurance market. It is this embedded model, insurance built directly into everyday transactions, that earned Sehat+ the JazzCash Money20/20 Award 2026 recognition. JazzCash says the platform is now expanding into InsureNow, a dedicated offering for travel, vehicle, home and mobile-device cover.

Pakistan’s insurance penetration has long lagged behind its regional peers, and the informal economy employs a large share of the country’s workforce. By turning its app, wallet and nationwide agent network into a mass-market insurance channel, JazzCash has positioned mobile money as a bridge over that protection gap, a strategy the Money20/20 judges rewarded in Las Vegas.

Back-to-Back Silver: ReadyCash Won in 2025

The JazzCash Money20/20 Award 2026 honour comes exactly a year after the company’s first Money20/20 Silver. In October 2025, JazzCash won the Silver Award in the Banking category for ReadyCash, its digital lending feature that provides instant and accessible credit to individuals and microentrepreneurs.

ReadyCash disburses an average of 140,000 digital loans daily, making JazzCash the largest digital lender in the country, according to VEON. The 2025 award recognised innovation in responsible lending and the platform’s contribution to Pakistan’s National Financial Inclusion Strategy, which targets increasing formal financial access to 75 percent of the population by 2028. In 2025, JazzCash was also a finalist in the Payments category for its work digitising government and donor disbursements to vulnerable communities.

Also a Finalist for “Paid with Dignity”

JazzCash was also named a finalist at Money20/20 USA 2026 in the Strategic Alliance and Partnership category for “Paid with Dignity,” recognising its role as a disbursement partner to the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and other government welfare initiatives.

Through BISP, direct wallet transfers have delivered PKR 20 billion to 1.48 million beneficiaries, according to Digital Pakistan’s coverage of the finalist announcement. The nomination highlights how branchless banking is being used to move public money transparently and with dignity to the people who need it most.

A Proud Moment for Pakistan’s Fintech Sector

The JazzCash Money20/20 Award 2026 win places Pakistan’s digital insurance sector firmly on the global map of insurtech innovation, and it caps a strong year for Pakistani brands winning international honours. The company says the award reflects its efforts to make financial protection accessible to people who lack traditional safety nets, stable employment or savings.

Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of JazzWorld and chairman of JazzCash, Mobilink Bank and JazzSure Insurance, said financial wellbeing is not only about access to money, but also about the ability to prepare for future needs and unexpected expenses, a point echoed in the company’s expansion from payments and lending into insurance, savings and investment.

The wins at Money20/20 are part of a wider run of global recognition for Pakistan’s technology and financial sector this year. Sixteen Pakistani technology firms are currently pitching directly to buyers and investors in the United States at Pakistan US Tech Connect 2026. Pakistani banks have also been collecting regional trophies, including the National Bank of Pakistan’s sustainable infrastructure award at the ABF Awards 2026, while Zong became the first Pakistani brand honoured at the Asian Experience Awards 2026 in Singapore.

The Money Awards 2026 winners were revealed at Money20/20 USA in Las Vegas on October 18, 2026, judged by more than 40 global industry leaders, according to the official awards programme. For JazzCash, which serves more than 62 million customers across Pakistan through its branchless banking charter with Mobilink Microfinance Bank, the second consecutive Silver confirms that homegrown financial technology can stand alongside the world’s leading fintech platforms.
