The summit, held on 26 September 2026 at the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU), brought together educators, institution builders, policymakers and EdTech innovators from more than 40 countries. Organised under the theme “Inspiring Minds. The award recognised Faisal’s sustained contribution to academic excellence, educational leadership and innovation, and to the development of future-ready learning environments. The honour was first reported by Imroze Pakistan, which published photographs of Faisal receiving the award certificate on stage. Speaking about the honour, she described it as both a personal milestone and a proud moment for Pakistan’s education community.

“I am deeply honoured to receive the Academic Excellence Award at the World School Summit 2026. Representing Pakistan on an international platform made this recognition particularly meaningful for me.”

Faisal dedicated the achievement to her students, teachers, colleagues and everyone who has supported her educational journey. She added that effective educational leadership was not limited to academic results, but also involved empowering others, nurturing excellence and creating opportunities for learners to realise their potential.

Who Is Beenish Faisal?

Beenish Faisal is the Principal of Future World School and College, Bahria Town Karachi, part of the Roots Millennium and The Millennium Education network. She brings around 21 years of experience in education and academic leadership, with a career spanning the improvement of teaching and learning, the professional development of educators, academic standards and student empowerment.

Before taking charge as principal, she served in senior academic roles:

  • Vice Principal at Roots Millennium Schools and Colleges

Her colleagues describe a leadership style built on mentoring teachers, raising classroom standards and keeping students at the centre of every decision.

About the 41st World School Summit

The summit is an international gathering of school leaders and education innovators. Details of the 41st Malaysia edition confirm the 26 September 2026 date at APU in Kuala Lumpur, the participation of educators from more than 40 countries, and the “Inspiring Minds. Shaping Tomorrow.” theme that framed this year’s keynote sessions and panel discussions.

Representing Pakistan on a Global Stage

Her presence at the summit highlighted the growing contribution of Pakistani educators to international conversations about educational leadership, innovation and the future of learning. The Beenish Faisal Academic Excellence Award is therefore not just a personal honour; it is a marker of how far Pakistani school leadership has travelled on the world stage. Pakistan’s education landscape is seeing quiet but real momentum, from new human-centred AI research at Punjab University to schools experimenting with technology-enabled classrooms. Recognition of a Karachi school principal on a Kuala Lumpur stage fits squarely into that story.

It also reflects the wider digital progress the country is making. As Pakistan’s services and technology sectors gain global attention, with the country ranking among the world’s top five digital services exporters according to the World Bank, educators like Faisal are preparing the next generation to compete in an increasingly global and technology-driven environment. For a country where teaching rarely makes international headlines, the Beenish Faisal Academic Excellence Award is a reminder that classroom leadership can earn world-class recognition.

Why the Beenish Faisal Academic Excellence Award Matters

International awards for school leaders do more than decorate a CV. They validate classroom-level work, from teacher training programmes to student mentoring, on a stage where the world’s educators are watching. For the students and staff of Future World School and College, the award is a signal that the standards being set in their own classrooms measure up internationally.

Pakistan’s schools are quietly raising their game, and initiatives such as free online education through Teleschool Pakistan show how seriously the country is taking learning access for every child.

As Principal, Faisal says she will continue to focus on academic standards, teacher development and innovation, and on equipping students with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to succeed. The Beenish Faisal Academic Excellence Award marks another milestone in her professional career and brings well-deserved international recognition to Pakistani leadership in the education sector.
