Minority students across Punjab can now earn job-ready Google qualifications without paying anything. Google Career Certificates for minority students have opened under a scholarship scheme from the Punjab Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Department, run with Google’s education partner Tech Valley Pakistan. The scheme covers 14 online courses in high-demand fields, the certificates are issued by Google, and the last date to apply is 11 November 2026.

What the Free Scholarship Covers

The scholarships cover the full Google Career Certificates catalogue of professional courses, taught online through Coursera at the student’s own pace. The 14 courses include:

  • Data Analytics and Advanced Data Analytics
  • Digital Marketing and E-Commerce
  • IT Support and IT Automation
  • Project Management
  • UX Design
  • Cybersecurity
  • Google AI Professional and AI Essentials

Each course ends with a certificate issued by Google, the kind of credential employers ask for in entry-level technology, marketing and business support roles. Because the courses are fully online and self-paced, students can study around college classes, jobs and family commitments.

Who Can Apply for Google Career Certificates for Minority Students

According to the application guidance, candidates must belong to a minority community in Punjab, be 18 or older, and be a graduate or a final-semester student. Applicants also need their own laptop or computer and a stable internet connection, since all study happens online. Applications are submitted through the Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Department’s website, hrma.punjab.gov.pk, and the deadline is 11 November 2026, so eligible students have only a short window to apply. For many applicants, Google Career Certificates for minority students will be a first professional qualification, earned without fees and without leaving home.

How to Apply, and What the Courses Are Worth

Applications are made online: candidates visit the department’s website at hrma.punjab.gov.pk, open the Google Career Certificates minority scholarship application, and submit the form with their personal and academic details before 11 November 2026. Selected students then receive free access to their chosen course and study from home. The fee waiver is the point of the scheme. On the open market, these Google certifications usually cost between 400 and 1,000 US dollars each and take three to six months to complete, a price that puts them out of reach for many of the students this scheme targets. Tech Valley, Google’s education partner in Pakistan, manages enrolments with the department, the same role it plays in the province-wide university programme described below.

Part of a Much Bigger Punjab Rollout

The minority scholarship sits inside a much larger Google Career Certificates drive across the province. In April 2026, the Punjab Higher Education Department and the Punjab Higher Education Commission signed an agreement with Tech Valley to offer 100,000 Google Career Certificate scholarships to students and faculty at 64 public and private universities, under the province’s Year of Youth 2026 programme. The rollout is already moving: at an orientation session at the University of the Punjab on 23 October 2026, students were enrolled on the spot, and the University of Sargodha has filled all 500 of its allocated seats. Nationally, Google added 150,000 new scholarships for Pakistani students in July 2026, taking the total on offer to 350,000. The minority scheme makes sure that students from Punjab’s Christian, Hindu, Sikh and other minority communities are explicitly included in that expansion, alongside other routes to world-class study such as the Rhodes Scholarships for Pakistan. It also lands at a moment when universities are celebrating record graduations, like the UMT 29th convocation, and when Google has separately backed scholarships for Balochistan students.
