Everything good about Pakistan

Hareem Naeem IGCSE topper honoured at Pakistan Embassy College Beijing investiture ceremony

Hareem Naeem IGCSE success has put a Pakistani school in Beijing on the world map. The Pakistan Embassy College Beijing student secured Top in the World in English as a Second Language at the IGCSE level, the highest standard mark in the world for a single subject in the Cambridge International Education examinations. The achievement was announced at the college’s Student Council Investiture Ceremony for the 2026-27 academic session, where Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Dr. Syed Ali Asad Gillani, attended as chief guest.

The result is one of the highest honours Cambridge awards to a learner anywhere in the world. Under the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards, the Top in the World title goes to the student who gains the highest standard mark in the world for a single subject. For a student studying far from home, in a school that serves families from more than 50 countries, it is a remarkable measure of consistency, preparation, and command of a second language.

What the Hareem Naeem IGCSE Result Means

The Hareem Naeem IGCSE result was announced alongside the college’s investiture ceremony, in front of students, teachers, and parents. English as a Second Language at IGCSE level assesses reading, writing, listening, and speaking, so a world-leading mark reflects strength across every part of the subject, not a single paper. It also speaks to the teaching behind the result: her teacher, Anwar Khan, was among the teachers recognised at the ceremony for their dedication and hard work.

Pakistani students continue to earn recognition on international stages. Earlier this year, a Pakistani AI student won the River Messenger honour in China, while another Pakistani student won an academic excellence award at the World School Summit. The Hareem Naeem IGCSE achievement belongs in the same growing story of Pakistani learners competing, and winning, against the best in the world.

Three More PECB Students Earn High Achievement Distinctions

The Hareem Naeem IGCSE result headlined the awards, but Hareem was not the only PECB student recognised. Three classmates earned High Achievement distinctions in their own subjects:

  • Mahnoor Bilal: High Achievement in Urdu as a Second Language, taught by Rao Obaid ur Rehman.
  • Zayna Ahmad: High Achievement in Islamiyat, taught by Noor Mustafa.
  • Rania Malik: High Achievement in Pakistan Studies, taught by Nayyab Arshad.

Between them, the four students cover English, Urdu, Islamiyat, and Pakistan Studies, a spread that reflects the college’s dual identity as a Cambridge school and a Pakistani institution abroad. Each of the four teachers was congratulated by the ambassador at the ceremony, alongside their students.

A Ceremony for Student Leaders

The academic awards were presented during the college’s Student Council Investiture Ceremony for the 2026-27 academic session. Sashes were presented to the newly appointed student leaders, including club presidents and vice presidents, sports captains, and the head boy and head girl. The new council members then took their oath of office, pledging to carry out their responsibilities with integrity and dedication, and the head boy and head girl addressed the gathering.

Ambassador Gillani told the students that leadership is a trust that must be upheld with integrity, fairness, and a spirit of service. He encouraged them to overcome their fears, stay focused on their goals, and seek guidance from their parents and teachers to become the best versions of themselves.

The ambassador presented shields to the high-achieving students in recognition of their academic accomplishments, and congratulated the newly inducted student council. The Hareem Naeem IGCSE distinction was the headline achievement of the evening. He also highlighted the college’s contribution to Pakistan-China relations, and its role in promoting academic excellence, cultural exchange, and greater understanding of Pakistan’s heritage and traditions among Chinese and international communities.

A School With a Long Record

Pakistan Embassy College Beijing was established in 1969 as the first international school in Beijing, and today serves students from more than 50 countries. It offers internationally recognised Cambridge International Education, including GCE/IGCSE and International AS and A Level programmes, alongside Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education syllabi for Pakistani students. The college says it recruits highly skilled teachers directly from Pakistan, with locally based faculty chosen for subject expertise and experience.

The Hareem Naeem IGCSE result continues that record of distinction in Cambridge and Federal Board examinations. For students and families weighing what comes next, there is no shortage of support: British Council scholarships for Pakistani students remain one of the best-known routes to further study abroad, and results like this one are exactly the kind of achievement that strengthens a future application.

The Hareem Naeem IGCSE achievement is a reminder that Pakistani classrooms, wherever they are in the world, can produce world-leading results.
